The research carried out by the Department of Health Promotion and Rehabilitation covers one of the strategic research areas of the Lithuanian Sports University – Muscles, Motor Control and Health Promotion.

Five research groups work within this strategic research area.

Research areas:

  • Empowerment of persons with special needs
  • Neuromuscular rehabilitation
  • Brain–muscle interactions
  • Molecules in sport and nutrition
  • Adaptation of aerobic capacity

Researchers of the Department actively prepare and successfully implement research projects funded by the Research Council of Lithuania and carry out other scientific activities. Over the past five years, they have published more than 200 scientific articles in journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus and serve on the editorial boards of more than ten international scientific journals published abroad.
