A wide range of research topics is the distiquishing characteristic of this research direction. It is comprised of research groups interested in genetic and molecular mechanisms, cardiovascular and respiratory systems, integrative assessment of health and performance status in athletes as well as current issues in sports games. Continuation of traditions in training science will guarantee that research work matches well the profile of teaching activities of the University. At the same time, increased interest in physiological and genetic issues of sports should help to assure the originality and quality of researh work, that attracts particular attention of science funding bodies in Lithuania.
