The international originality of the research trend is substantiated by the fact that little is known if the relationship between physical activity (PA) and ischemic heart diseases (IHD) is linear. Many research findings have confirmed that IHD decreases with the increasing intensity of PA. But it is still not clear if PA is enough estimating the decrease in the risk of cardiovascular diseases at the population level. The analysis of risk prevention programmes for obesity and eating disorders revealed that some of them were unsafe. It is relevant to develop new prevention programmes and verify their efficiency. Though research has proved that PA can positively affect both physical and mental health, it is still relevant to evaluate the peculiarities of manifestation and interrelations of mental health constructs for adolescents engaged in different levels of PA. Having in mind the normative evaluation of physical education in the context of post-soviet Lithuania and other countries, it is relevant to estimate the effect that such evaluation had on physical inactivity of present-day adults. Also it is relevant to model different programmes of school physical education and to estimate their influence of children’s PA. There are no unanimous conception and evaluation criteria for the creativity of physical education and sports specialists, it is important to reveal the conception of creative activities as a phenomenon. Based on contradicting data about sports activities influence on personality development, it is relevant to investigate the effect of sports activities on the development of personal qualities and behaviours.
