PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project proposed by Olimpia Basket Matera gathers for the first time together 4 European National Basketball Federations (Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark), 1 NGO (Red Deporte, Spain), 1 Sport University (Kaunas, Lithuania), 2 Italian sport clubs and 1 Italian public primary school with the important aim to develop a new model of teaching basketball (completely experimental for the time being) to children and testing it on target group of kids coming from school, NGOs and clubs, thus providing training for Federation trainers that will then spread it all over Europe.

The project that will last 24 months will be developed in the following phases:
1. new model of Easy Basket In Europe shared among partners- conferences in Italy and in the partner countries on Easy Basket (5 transnational meetings)- production of multilingual dissemination material of the new Easy Basket For Europe model
2. training of operators in partner countries- training courses in partner countries for physical education teachers and mini-basket instructors
3. testing of the new Easy Basket In Europe model – experimentation of the new European Easy Basketball model in a pilot school – International sport event to be held in Matera with the participation of about 40 teams, with at least one representative from each partner
4. analysis and publication of the results – comparison of data before and after experimentation – multi-languages publication of the results indicating the success of the project About dissemination, the initial conference for stakeholder and the final conference for results discussion will be held in Matera.

The principal output results that can be considered tools for the future will be:
1. Good practices Guide: it will be translated in all European languages and it will be used in the future by all the trainers in Europe
2. Web Based E-learning site: all the multimedia material will be stored and made available to everybody with web site.
