Country-specific requirements for educational documents

The educational documents of the applicant must have an apostille or be legalized (approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the diplomatic mission or consular office of the country where the education was obtained).

In order to apply for the residence permit, a student must obtain a document from his/her country about his/hers criminal record which must be translated into English language, also Apostilled or (if applicant cannot Apostille criminal record) have a double legalization. In case of double legalization, please reach out the University.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMITTED DOCUMENTS

The documents submitted by the applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • The documents must be official, i.e., issued by authorized, competent and accredited bodies.
  • Electronic copies (scans) must be made from the original documents or properly certified copies (the originals of the mentioned documents are required to confirm the decision upon arrival to study):
    • all scans must be full size, color, text legible and clear, all stamps and signatures must be clearly visible. Any scans that do not meet such requirements will be disregarded;
    • if the document contains several pages, they must be combined into one electronic file;
    • if the applicant has studied at several institutions, they must be attached separately, each in one electronic file;
    • if the applicant has several degrees, they must be attached separately, each in one electronic file;
    • all documents must be arranged in chronological order.

 

  • The submitted document must certify the final qualification of higher secondary or higher education (preliminary education documents may be submitted at the initial stage, if at the time of submitting the documents, the training or studies have not been completed or the documents have not been issued by the teaching or research and study institution).
  • Documents should be provided in the original language, and an official translation of the documents into English or Lithuanian (at the applicant’s choice) is requested when the language of the document is other than English. A translation is considered to be official when it is bound to a certified true copy of the document in the original language and is attested by the translator’s signature.
  • Candidates who have completed their education in countries which are countries-members of the Hague 1961 Convention must have an Apostille attached to their educational documents (in many countries an Apostille is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of Education).
  • Applicants who have completed their education in countries non-members of the Hague 1961 Convention must provide educational documents legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the diplomatic mission or consular post of the country where the education was obtained.
  • We reserve the right to request for the originals of your credentials for verification purposes at any time during the processing of your application. Submission of originals (by mail or by bringing to the admissions office) and collection of documents after their verification (by mail or upon arrival) is organized and carried out at the applicant’s expense.
  • The submitted credentials are subject to verification, which requires a direct confirmation of the award of the qualification and an Official Academic Transcript from the issuing institution. The Official Academic Transcript should be sent directly from the official mailbox of the school/higher education institution to LSU e-mail RECOGNITION@LSU.LT and by post, mailing address: Sporto 6, LT-44221 Kaunas, Lithuania.

Documents certifying the post-secondary education for at least one academic year at higher education institution (the institution of formal education must be officially recognized and accredited by the Nigerian Ministry of Education). Official Academic Transcript (certified true copy) must be provided directly to LSU.

Turkey

Application to Bachelor’s programs:

  1. High School Diploma (Lise Diplomasi)
  2. Official Transcript (Records of the last 4 years of high school)
  3. Results of taken YKS (from 2018), YGS and/or LYS examinations or previously organised centralised admission examinations (at least one of the entrance exam scores is 180 or higher) or documents attesting post-secondary education of at least one year at a higher education institution

Application to Master’s degree programs:

  1. Bachelor’s Diploma (Lisans Diplomasi)
  2. Diploma Supplement/ Academic Transcript

All educational documents must be translated into English (notarized translation) and apostilled.

Ukraine

Application to Bachelor’s programs:

  1. Certificate of Complete General Secondary Education (Cвідоцтвo про здобуття повної загальної середньої освіти / Aтeстат прo повну загальну серeдню освiту)
  2. Transcript to the Certificate (Додаток до атестата)
  3. Results of national testing: Зовнішнє незалежне оцінювання (ЗНО) (from 2008 to 2021) or Національний мультипредметний тест (НMТ) (in 2022) or documents attesting post-secondary education of at least one year at a higher education institution

United Kingdom

Application to Bachelor’s programs:

  1. General Certificate of Education (GCE) – Advanced Levels (A Levels). Qualification awarded after completion of 2 years Advanced Level programme. At least 2 Advanced Level exams must be passed (the minimum acceptable grade is D).

Or

  1. Scottish Qualifications Certificate with at least 4 passed Scottish Highers/ Scottish Advanced Highers exams (SCOTLAND).

United States

Application to Bachelor’s programs:

  1. High School Diploma
  2. Official academic transcript submitted in a sealed and stamped envelope;
  3. SAT/ACT Entrance Examinations or Honors, AP, College Prep study level
  4. Documents attesting to completion of any postsecondary education (if applicable)

Application to Master’s degree programs:

Uzbekistan

Application to Bachelor’s programs:

  1. Diploma of Completed Secondary Education (Akademik litsey diplomi)
  2. Results of taken and passed Kirish Imtakhoni examination.
  3. It the Kirish Imtakhoni examination was not taken or didn’t pass, applicant can take a Knowledge and abilities test at LSU, or to provide documents attesting post-secondary education of at least one year at a higher education institution (it is necessary to submit an academic transcript showing successfully passed exams).
