World Lithuanian Sports Association will help spread the message about LSU in Lithuanian communities abroad

A cooperation agreement has been signed between Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) and World Lithuanian Sports Association (WLSA). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Artūras Poviliūnas, the President of World Lithuanian Sports Association and the Rector of LSU Prof. Habil. Dr. Albertas Skurvydas certified the partnership by their signatures.

By this agreement, LSU and WLSA have undertaken to cooperate in the development and implementation of activities in the areas of sport, research, release of joint publications, information dissemination, joint conferences and commemorations, and institutional publicity. One of the key advantages of the signed agreement is the opportunity to present studies at LSU to Lithuanian emigrants, attract students from abroad to study and develop the internationalization of LSU.

“World Lithuanian Sports Association unites world Lithuanians and their organizations, interested in Lithuanian sport and various sports movements. Our goal is to give publicity to famous Lithuanian sports organizations, athletes, referees, sports journalists, and sponsors in Lithuania and the world as well as bring together all the Lithuanian sports society. We hope to successfully cooperate with the University and achieve beautiful goals for the benefit of Lithuanian sport”, said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Artūras Poviliūnas, the President of WLSA and LSU alumnus.

“There are a lot of Lithuanians scattered throughout the world, but not so many to let ourselves refrain from communicating with each other. I hope that this cooperation agreement will contribute to the reinforcement of communication and nurturing of relationships among Lithuanians, as sport is the area, which unites Lithuanians abroad the most”, said the Rector of LSU Prof. Habil. Dr. Albertas Skurvydas.
