The Lithuanian Sports University hosted a special guest from Ukraine, the sports medicine physician Mr. Volodymyr Sekretnyi who came to Lithuania with the Ukrainian national ice hockey team.
Mr. V. Sekretnyi is not only the chief physician of the Ukrainian national ice hockey team, but also the director of the Ukrainian Sports Medicine Centre, and an associate professor of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation Medicine and Sport Medicine at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.
The guest from Ukraine discussed with the LSU Rector Prof. Dr. Diana Rėklaitienė, representatives of the International Relations Office, Knowledge and Innovation Relay Division and Department of Health Promotion and Rehabilitation the need for sports medicine, wellness and rehabilitation in Ukraine after the war. There are plans to sign a cooperation agreement with the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, to share experience in the development of sports science and studies.
The LSU and the Ukrainian University are planning to develop joint projects and exchange of expertise and knowledge.
Mr. V. Sekretnyi also brought with him an unexpected gift – the Ukrainian flag with signatures of the players of the national ice hockey team.
