The beginning of a new academic year celebrated at LSU
Lithuanian Sports University started a new academic year on 1st September. Welcoming speeches were made by the University Rector Prof. Habil. Dr. Albertas Skurvydas, Vice-Rector for Sports and Infrastructure and the Chairman of the Senate Prof. Dr. Aleksas Stanislovaitis, Vice-Rector for Studies Prof. Dr. Rasa Jankauskienė, Vice-Rector for Research Prof. Dr. Arvydas Stasiulis, Deans of the faculties Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nerijus Masiulis and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arūnas Emeljanovas as well as the President of the Student Representative Council Elvinas Staškus.
After the festivity, first-year students met the study programme directors and new friends. They were given symbolic presents by the International Relations Office.
494 students joined Lithuanian Sports University this year. According to the data provided by the Centre for Academic Quality Supervision, the study programmes of Sports Coaching and Physiotherapy were the most popular; graduates were also willing to join the study programmes of Physical Education, Sport Recreation and Tourism, Sports Industries, and Physical Activity and Lifestyle (in the English language).
