Teachers and students of Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism to pursue an internship at LSU

On June 25 – July 1, the Rector of Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism Baurzhan Zakiryanov, his wife and the Head of the Department of Sports Medicine and Exercise Therapy Aida Satybaldina paid a visit to Lithuanian Sports University.

During the visit, the organization of work of students and academic staff in accordance with the Erasmus + KA107 Mobility Program was discussed. The guests were interested in long traditions of undergraduate and graduate programs of Physiotherapy, laboratories and students’ research activities. The cooperation between the institutions has been carried out since 2012. Every year, students of the Academy join Sports Management, Physiotherapy, Sports Coaching, Physical Activity and Lifestyle study programs at LSU for one semester.

The Rector Baurzhan Zakiryanov was pleased to learn about LSU academic system and study programs; he admired the fact that students of every study program carry out scientific research and have great opportunities to work in laboratories and use scientific equipment.

In the following academic year, 2 academic staff members and 2 students from Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism will be able to come  to LSU under the Erasmus + KA107 Mobility Program. The Rector noted that it has been planned to send a few teaching staff members on an internship every year to gain experience in organizing the academic process. Recently, the Academy has been trying to strengthen and modernize Physiotherapy study program.
