Orientation days for international incoming students programme

February 2– 6, 2015

The orientation days, organized jointly with the International Relations Office (IRO) and Student Union are designed to help you to know each other, the University and the City of Kaunas. It is our way to say “Welcome” to you.

Monday, February 2

10:30 – 11:30           Meeting with the staff of the International Relations Office. Meeting point – LSU Central Building, Room 218

11:30 – 12:30           Tour around the LSU Campus

16:00 – 18:00          Welcome dinner at Restaurant “Pompėja” (provided by LSU). Meeting point – Dormitory at 15:30

Tuesday, February 3

10:00 – 12:00             Lithuanian Culture and History (CB, Room 218)

13:00 – 13:30             Meeting with teacher Simona Pajaujiene (Fitness Group Activities) (CB, Room 218)

14:00 – 15:00             Visit to the agency “Zip travel” for ISIC Card*

15:30 – 17:30             Swimming pool

20:00 – 22:00             Evening with the Student Union

22:00 – …                  Karaoke at Džem’pub

*ISIC – a card which is the only internationally accepted proof of full-time student status. The card is recognised by universities, academic institutions, student organisations, national governments and ministries of education around the world. You will get the card with integrated e-ticket, which is used for public transport in Kaunas. ISIC card costs 10.00 €.

Wednesday, February 4

13:30 – 16:00             Tour of the city Kaunas

16:30 – 18:00             Bowling in “Akropolis” (provided by LSU)

Thursday, February 5

10:00 – 12:00             Lithuanian Language (CB, Room 218)

13:00 – 13:30             Meeting with teacher Renata Rutkauskaite (Didactics of Physical Education) (CB, Room 218)

14:30 – 15:30             Wushu (Chinese martial arts) training session with teacher Junli Wang

21:00 – …                  ESN Welcome Party (Club “Gargaras”, Raudondvario road 101)

Friday, February 6

10:00 –                       Excursion to Trakai. Meeting point – Dormitory at 09:45

11:30 – 12:30             Guided tour at Trakai History Museum

12:30 – 14:00             Lunch: Karaim national cuisine “Kibinai” (provided by LSU)

14:00 – 15:00             Free time for sightseeing and shopping in Trakai

15:00 –                       Travelling back to Kaunas
