LSU Women’s Basketball team became the champions of 3×3 FISU World University League!

Lithuanian Sports University basketball players Laura Svarytė, Neringa Skadaitė, Grytė Markevičiūtė and Greta Tamašauskaitė triumphed in Xiamen (China) as they became the champions of 3×3 FISU World University League. The team is coached by Dr. Rasa Kreivytė.

In July, LSU students won the European Universities Games (EUSA) Women’s Basketball tournament (3 × 3) in Croatia, which gave the opportunity to participate in the World Championship. Before the triumph in Croatia, the team won 3×3 Basketball Championship in the Lithuanian Students Basketball League.

16 teams from China, France, Brazil, Canada, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Lithuania started 3×3 FISU World University Championship.

Rasa Kreivytė’s students' way towards the medals started on Friday, when Lithuanians faced the team of Beijing Normal University and won with the score of 21 to 13. On Saturday, LSU team won against French basketball players with the score of 18 to 13, and later defeated Brazilian team with the score of 21 to 12. On Sunday morning, Lithuanian team won against Uganda team in the Quarterfinal; LSU students defeated Australian team in the Semi-Final (16:14), and in the Women’s Final, Lithuanian Sports University faced the University of Regina (Canada) and became the champions with the score of 21 to 14.
