LSU students participated in the intensive international study programme “Winter School in Sport Sciences” (Finland)

Thanks to the Nordplus Idrott Network grants three students from LSU of the study programme “Physical Education and Sport” were able to take part in the intensive international study programme “Winter School in Sport Sciences” in university of Jyvaskyla (Finland) on January 9-20th, 2017.

“This is third year already when our students’ applications are granted by Nordplus Idrott Network (coordinators – Southern Denmark University in Odense, Denmark) for study exchange programme in one of the sport university of Nordic or Baltic country. Students had to register to the Winter School in university of Jyvaskyla and later received an invitation to participate in the programme together with other foreign students”, says Nordplus Idrott Network institutional coordinator at LSU assoc. prof. Rita Gruodytė-Račienė.

“Jyvaskyla is a beautiful and cosy city. People are very active here: even in winter they ride bicycle or jog, not to mention skiing and skating, the skills that have everyone from little to senior. During the Programme we got a chance to experience several winter sports. Some of the practical sessions were new for us, others we already tried in Lithuania, so here we had an opportunity to improve our skills. It was very nice to meet students from other countries of the world. The group was excellent, the programme intensive, therefore those two weeks passed instantly. We are very greatful to teacher R. Gruodytė-Račienė and the University for this opportunity to participate in “Winter School” in Finland”, their impressions share participants of international programme Mantas Akramas, Lukas Tamašas and Mantas Tinginys.
