LSU Master student got into FIEP Europe Future Leader Project

The selection of participants for FIEP Europe Future Leader Project has been organized by FIEP Europe for the first time. Laura Tumynaitė, a student of Master study programme Physical Education at the Faculty of Sport Education, LSU, participated in the contest. The Organising Committee received a lot of applications of the candidates from all over the world, but selected only 12 out of them, including Laura.

The aim of FIEP Future Leader Project is to give the opportunity for students and young teachers to learn more about the issues in physical education, and integrate into the international scientific community in this field. The participants of the project have been invited to attend a series of lectures at L'Institut Royal de Formation des Cadres de la Jeunesse et des Sports (Rabat, Morocco) on 12—15 November 2015. The event will focus on modern directions in physical education and sports as well as the change of their goals in a multicultural society. It is expected that this event will help to answer many of the questions and draw further guidance and prospects in the field Physical Education. Project participants will be tutored by Prof. Dr. Ichiro Kawachi from Harvard University (USA).

“Ideas for organizing activities for young scientists and Physical Education specialists have been hovering in FIEP Europe and FIEP World organizations for some time already, so I am very happy that finally we managed to implement them. I believe that Laura will properly represent Lithuania and our University in FIEP Europe Future Leader Project in Morocco. I wish that these experiences would help her become a true leader not only during her studies at LSU, but in her working life and future career as well. At the same time I hope that the student will also contribute to the strengthening and implementation of one of LSU strategic research areas “Health Enhancing Physical Activity and Education through Sport”, said the member of the Board of Directors of FIEP World, the Dean of the Faculty of Sport Education Arūnas Emeljanovas.
