LSU Enrolment for the State-Funded Study Places Has Doubled

On the 1st of September, 417 first-year students will begin the new academic year at Lithuanian Sports University.

This has become clear after the announcement of general admission results to Lithuanian higher education institutions.

On the basis of the data of the Centre for Academic Quality Supervision, 417 students of the first cycle and 134 students of the second cycle university programmes will open the door of the University.

The state-funded study places have been given to 97 students, which is almost two times more than the previous year (57) and the number of students pursuing the second cycle university studies has increased too.

Students have been mainly attracted by “Sports coaching” (160) and “Physiotherapy” (115) study programmes.

"I am delighted that we have received the state – funded educational baskets twice as much as last year. The University focuses on sports and sports rehabilitation, physical activity and public health promotion, thus, the most popular study programmes are: Sports Coaching, Physiotherapy, Physical Activity and Public Health.

It is worth noting, that the interest in management studies at Sports University has decreased as well as in other higher education institutions ", – said the Rector of LSU, Prof. Habil. Dr. Albertas Skurvydas.

The Lithuanian Sport University offers 19 study programmes: 8 Bachelor's, 9 Master's and 2 Doctoral degree programmes. Almost 2000 students will study at Lithuanian Sports University this year.
