On September 12-15, the 29th Annual EAIE (European Association for International Education) Conference and Exhibition took place in Seville (Spain). Diverse presentations from different countries as well as dozens of reports and discussions on recent trends in higher education took place every day.

6,000 participants from 95 countries attended the biggest exhibition on higher education at Seville Conference and Exhibition Centre (FIBES). Lithuanian Sports University was represented by the delegates from the International Relations Office and Public Relations Office. At the exhibition under the theme “a mosaic of cultures”, there was much discussion about the European Union-funded student exchange programme Erasmus+ and its activities, internationality strategies of universities, preparatory programmes, strategic partnerships, student attraction trends and challenges.

The discussions took place not only during plenary sessions and presentation of various reports, but also at the exhibition display stands, which featured higher education institutions from different countries. A stand presenting Lithuanian higher education institutions “Study in Lithuania” attracted a lot of attention. Lithuanians introduced their universities (Lithuanian Sports University to be mentioned among others), organized meetings with student attraction agents and Erasmus+ programme partners and distributed publications and souvenirs. At the exhibition, LSU representatives discussed cooperation with the delegates from Université libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), Technical University of Munich (Germany), University of Chichester (United Kingdom), Aarhus University (Denmark) and Norwegian School of Sports Sciences.  The participants discussed the improvement of student and teacher exchange opportunities, student conditions and the variety of study programmes offered in English as well as the issues of inter-university cooperation and signing new contracts. They met with the representatives of Study Pointer, Mobility-Online, Study Portals, Paragon Europe, who offered collaboration services for attracting foreign students to LSU.
