A lecturer from Germany delivered lectures to future sports managers

  On 28—29 September, Dr. Stefan Walzel from the German Sport University Cologne (Germany) visited Lithuanian Sports University and delivered lectures to third-year students of a study programme “Sports Industries”, the module of “Sports and Tourism Management III”.

  The scientist has been working in the field of sports management for more than 15 years; he investigates the aspects of good governance and social responsibility in sports organizations, fairness in sport, the hospitality industry and issues in management of sporting events.

 During the lectures, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stefan Walzel discussed management and development issues in an entrepreneurial sports and tourism organization and presented international sports and entertainment dimensions.

Research interests: corporate social responsibility in and through sport; negative consequences of commercialisation in sport.
