Licensed FIFA players’ agent Deividas Sadauskas: sports management is one of the most interesting professions

Graduates of Sports Management study programme successfully develop their business, work as leaders, managers or administrators in national and international sports organizations, continue their studies in Tourism and Sports Management and other master’s degree study programmes in the area of social sciences.

Deividas Sadauskas, who possesses a license issued by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), was also conferred master’s degree in Tourism and Sports Management at LSU. Deividas remembers that his studies at the university gave him the opportunity to quickly make a career – he started working as a marketing manager at a bowling club and soon became its director. He has always been close to sport. Deividas continued his career working as a project manager at the Children’s Football Academy and, after having passed the exams, obtained a license of an agent from FIFA. “During my studies I established useful links and this led to interest in sports management. This area is one of the most interesting. It provides opportunities to get to know a lot of people, cultures and countries,” said the LSU graduate.

According to Deividas, the most intense months are January, July and August, when football teams look for players. Deividas travels a lot and meets a lot of football players. The LSU graduate believes that personal relationships, negotiation skills and perseverance are the most important character traits for an agent.

D. Sadauskas is pleased with the successful mediation for Lithuanian sixteen-year-olds in the academies of the highest level in England, Spanish top-level players, members of the Bosnian team in China, Lithuanians in Israel, Armenia, Cyprus, Italy, Germany, Scotland, and foreign players in Lithuanian clubs.

A number of well-known national sports managers have completed sports management studies at LSU. Students of this programme learn how to manage and administer sports organizations, analyse the possibilities of sports organizations, apply leadership principles in practice, think creatively, search for new ideas and implement them in the development of future sport.
