Lithuanian Sports University continues Nordplus HZ project for sports coaches

LSU coordinates the project No. NPHZ-2025/10158Mastering the Coaching Process: Skills and Competencies for Training Monitoring and Management”, that started in Autumn of 2025. After series of online meetings, questionnaire and discussions the program for a theory-practical seminar has been designed for sports coaches. The seminar was organized in May at Tartu University, Estonia. Coaches from Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark and Lithuania participated in this seminar. The aim of the project is to simplify data reporting systems and promote efficient communication among coaches, athletes, researchers and other staff members. Based on participants’ feedback from our current project, this will include creating an online platform for data reporting, analysis and sharing, to improve decision-making processes. Thus, the focus will not only be on practitioners’ skills enhancement, but also on use of research data and communication with researchers. The project aims to optimize athlete performance and well-being, support decision-making, promote sustainable coaching practices, and bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and practical application.

After the seminar and discussions with coaches a set of theoretical and practical guidelines for collecting high-quality data,
related to the training monitoring process will be developed. Finally, a unified online platform for efficient data reporting, analysis and sharing among stakeholders (e.g., coaches, athletes, researchers and other sport organization) will be created in a Moodle system.
