Electronic scientific journal “Leisure Time Research” expects plenty of attention not only from scientists

The first edition of international electronic scientific journal "Leisure Time Research" has appeared recently, which can be found at: http://laisvalaikiotyrimai.lsu.lt/index.php/lt/.

The founder of the journal is the Department of Sports Management, Economics and Sociology and the publisher is – the Lithuanian Sports University.

Social Sciences and Humanities are the main research areas of this scientific journal and will be published in the Lithuanian, Russian and English languages.

The members of the Editorial Board of the journal are the researchers from the U.S., Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Russian, Slovakia, Finland and German universities.

"Leisure and recreation activities have taken on new meanings in people's lives. Scientists explore the construction of social relations in the sector of leisure and recreation services, which is based on cooperation and integration of social sciences and researchers. Publications including leisure time research are not numerous, although the area is very broad. Therefore, we expect research papers on the development of social sciences. We hope that the journal will promote discussions in the Lithuanian and world scientific and academic communities; help readers analyze, evaluate and develop their approach to interdisciplinary and specific problems in certain fields of science. We hope it will become the object of interest not only for scientists, but for students, business organizations, society and state authorities as well”, – stated the LSU Head of the Department of Sports Management, Economics and Sociology, Editor-in-chief of the journal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Biruta Švagždienė. This electronic scientific journal will be published twice a year.

"This journal is the first one in Lithuania, embracing the global problems of leisure and recreation organizations and organizers. Research articles in the journal will be published in three languages. We strive to make it available to a wider range of audience, especially to young people, therefore, we have chosen the electronic version, thus helping us to economize on resources. The mission of a multi-national Editorial Board is to disseminate the truth of science to the world – to be missionaries", – said the Editor-in-chief of the journal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Biruta Švagždienė.
