Coordinators

Kristina Venckuniene. Project manager, researcher. A lecturer in Department of Health and rehabilitation , Lithuanian sports university. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Adapted Physical Education and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation. She is a lecturer and a member of the scientific group “Physical, psychological and social rehabilitation of the disabled and the empowerment through adapted physical activity”. The main field of interest is physical activity for children with cerebral palsy and wheelchair users. She started participating in projects in 2006 with a joint action project “Sports and Physical Activity for Persons with Disabilities-Awareness, Understanding, Action”.

Diana Reklaitiene, PhD, is the Rector of LSU and a Professor at the Department of Coaching Science. In 2003, she had a doctoral degree in Social Sciences. Her main research interests are the quality of life and well-being of people with special needs and elderly people in connection to physical activity; adapted physical activity and physiotherapy; and inclusive education. She prepared more than 50 scientific publications in national and international journals and presented more than 80 presentations at scientific conferences.

Aida Vengale (Gaizauskiene) is a director of the Department of Knowledge and Innovation Relay at LSU and a lecturer. In 1994 she gained a Bachelor of Educational Sciences degree and in 2002 she acquired a Master of Education. She works in strategic research areas – “Health enhancing physical activity and education through sport” and “Brain and skeletal muscles”. She is a member of groups of scientists “Technology of activity and education through sport” and “SEN: Emotions and behavior”. Her research interest is developing positive behavior through physical activity for children with emotional and behavioral problems. Now she works as a researcher in project KINESIS (ERASMUS+) and also has experience in the implementation of other projects.

 Vida Ostaseviciene, PhD, has a background in Special Psychology and Pedagogy. She is a director of the APA Master program at LSU. Her main research interests are Physical, psychological, and social rehabilitation of the disabled and their empowerment through adapted physical activity; Children with special needs, and emotional and behavioral disorders due to changes in adapted physical activity impact. Vida has participated in many EU-funded projects since 2006. Now as a project team member in such Eramus+ projects I follow: „KINESIS“and „REHAB“. Also, she was a team member of the national project “Studies without barriers: students with special needs integration into the community of Lithuanian Sports University”.

Jurate Pozeriene, PhD, is acting Vice-Rector at LSU, associate professor of the Department of Applied Biology and Rehabilitation at LSU. In 2001 she received a doctoral degree in Social Science, Education Science (07S), Physical Training, Motorial Learning, and Sport (S273). Her main research interests are physical, psychological, and social rehabilitation of the disabled and empowerment through adapted physical activity; children with special needs, and emotional and behavioral disorders due to changes in adapted physical activity impact. J. Pozeriene actively participates in national and international projects.

Dr. Aija Klavina is a senior researcher at the Latvian Academy of Sport Education in Riga (Latvia). Currently she is a president of the European Federation of Adapted Physical Activities (since 2018). Dr. Klavina’s research interests include collaborative teaching instructions in inclusive physical education, measures of indicators for participation in daily physical activity for children with disabilities and physical activity programs for persons with non-communicable and oncological health problems and comprehensive assessment.

Nadija Strazdina is a visiting lecturer at the Latvian Academy of Sport Education. Her background education is in physiotherapy and physical education. Nadija is a chief of the board of the Special Sports Center and the Board member of the Special Olympics Latvia.

Prof. Natalia Morgulec-Adamowicz, PhD, is licensed physiotherapist, works as a Dean of the Faculty of Rehabilitation at Jozef Pilsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw. Her research interest is adapted physical activity, disability sport, water therapy, physiology of special populations. She is an author or co-author of over 120 scientific publications and 6 handbooks, reviewer in scientific international journals, thematic editor for adapted physical activity in the scientific quarterly Advances in Rehabilitation, Fellowship of International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity, Secretary of Polish Scientific Association of Adapted Physical Activity and Vice-President of Polish Wheelchair Rugby Federation. She has strong project experience through the participation in 12 international scientific projects (in 2 as coordinator), serving as expert of European Commission in EACEA and consultant for Educational Research Institute (IBE) and Polish Paralympic Committee.

Marta Kinga Labecka, PhD, works in the Faculty of Rehabilitation at AWF Warsaw. She is a licensed physiotherapist and corrective gymnastics instructor.
Research interests focus on the influence of external and internal factors on body posture and foot changes in children and adolescents. In his work, he combines knowledge with practice, often in the form of games and plays, as the best way of shaping motor skills in children. She is an author or co-author of around 20 scientific, a reviewer in scientific international journals, and deputy editor of scientific quarterly Advances in Rehabilitation.
She has strong project experience through participation in 3 international projects, a project funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Program (1), and other scientific projects (10).

Kwok Ng, PhD., holds the title of docent (adjunct professor) of health promotion and adapted physical activity. He is a senior researcher at the University of Eastern Finland, the European Representative of the International Federation in Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA), and vice president of the European Federation in Adapted Physical Activity (EUFAPA). 

Maija Puromies is a classroom teacher by education and previous profession. PhD in music education at the University of Eastern Finland. Researcher, an advisor on school-related issues, and a technician in the SENDItech project. All-round sports hobbyists, hoping for quality physical education for every pupil.
