LSU presented at the 28th EAIE Conference and at the exhibition in Liverpool
On 13—17 September, the Head of the International Relations Office Irena Čikotienė and the specialist of the Public Relations Office Giedrė Žakelė participated in the Annual European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference and a higher education exhibition in Liverpool (Great Britain). The 28th Annual Conference hosted as many as 5,200 representatives of higher education from over 80 countries, making it one of the largest Europe’s higher education events.
Over 200 universities and education institutions, related to the internationality of higher education were presented at EAIE exhibition, which involved various presentations, meetings and cooperation events.
LSU introduced the studies in an exhibition stand “Study in Lithuania” together with other Lithuanian higher education institutions and met with the representatives and agents of the partner universities. Universities from Norway and the Netherlands showed interest in cooperation possibilities with our university. During the meeting with a representative of the Technical University of Munich, which is a partner university of LSU, possibilities of joint research were discussed. Possible cooperation in the field of science was also discussed with the manager of the International Relations Office of the University of Technology Sydney as well as the representatives of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (South Africa) and Kookmin University (Korea).
According to the Head of the International Relations Office of LSU Irena Čikotienė, participation in the EAIE Conference is a great opportunity to not only introduce LSU and increase university visibility among foreign higher education institutions, but also to meet with international partners, discuss potential cooperation possibilities, make contacts with agents who attract foreign students, broaden horizons, improve and get acquainted with the new trends in the area of international education and coordinated programmes, offered by EC.
During the Conference, the representatives of LSU actively participated in seminars and discussions. Moreover, new contacts were made, which is expected to expand international opportunities for LSU and make the university more successful in the field of studies abroad.
