Guest lecturer Dr. Stuart Gray from University of Glasgow will deliver lecture at LSU

 Dr. Stuart Gray from Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences, University of Glasgow will be visiting Lithuanian Sports University. He will deliver lecture “Exercise, Nutrition and Health”.

  The lecture will take place on On 23 November 2017, 3 p.m, LSU central building, Romm 215.

 

  Dr. Stuart Gray investigates the role of exercise and nutrition in health, understanding the importance of the maintenance of muscle mass for health – with a particular focus on metabolic health and ageing. His work ranges from epidemiology to randomised controlled trials to controlled mechanistic studies.

  He did his undergraduate degree in Physiology and Sports Science at the University of Glasgow before completing a PhD investigating the metabolic effects of increasing muscle temperature at the University of Strathclyde. Following a post-doc at Strathclyde working on a trial looking at the physiological and psychological effects of a walking intervention he moved to Loughborough University for a second post-doc looking at the metabolic effects of exercise induced cytokines.
