Erasmus students enjoyed scuba diver training lessons

LSU Erasmus students have been enjoying student life in Kaunas for a half of an autumn semester already. Many of them have learned the basics of Lithuanian, the knowledge of which foreign students have acquired during swimming training sessions attended by those who have chosen the study module ”Sports Coaching of Selected Sports (basics) – Swimming“. During the training sessions and the breaks they talk to Lithuanian swimmers about things important to all athletes: training, achievement of results, recreation and leisure.

According to Erasmus students, swimming studies at the University have been especially useful: they have already judged during some swimming competitions, taught others to swim and soon are going to take part in competitions themselves. Foreign students got acquainted with diving and the equipment used for it. Although some of the students had already experienced diving, they were glad to refresh the knowledge and skills with the help of Artūras Petrovas, an LSU graduate working as a rescue diver at Kaunas City Rescue Service. Students learned to put on special diving suits, dive, emerge, exchange diving apparatuses and even communicate under water. Student Sarah had a bit of a struggle as she had to dive with the most difficult balloon full of oxygen. Immersed in the pleasure of diving, students filmed and photographed under water and above it.
