LSU will hold its 9th annual International Week

On April 13–17, 2026 the Lithuanian Sports University will hold the 9th edition of the International Week.

This year, the important annual event for the entire University‘s community brings together nearly 30 international teachers from the LSU partner institutions, representing countries such as Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Spain, UK, USA, and Turkey.

One of the highlights of International Week is the International Networking Fair, which will take place on Wednesday, April 15, from 12:30 to 14:00 in Room 215, LSU Central Building. Both students and teachers will have an opportunity talk directly with with representatives from foreign partner institutions and receive useful information about academic exchange opportunities, as well as make closer connections with the LSU international partners.

Among the international guests will be Dr. Ben Thompson, a professor of exercise physiology at the Metropolitan State University of Denver (USA), who is an active member in such organizations as the American Physiological Society and the American College of Sports Medicine, and has published in well-known peer-reviewed journals the American Journal of Physiology – Heart and Circulatory Physiology and the Journal of Applied Physiology. Prof. Dr. Ben Thompson’s research interests cover skeletal muscle blood flow as well as the efficacy of physician/exercise professional national initiatives. Other guest lecturers sharing their expertise with students include Dr. Naoki Kikuchi, a professor of sports physiology and genetics at Nippon Sport Science University in Japan, Thorben Hülsdünker, a lecturer in sports neuroscience at LUNEX University in Luxembourg, Ângela Fernandes, a lecturer in applied psychology at Fernando Pessoa University in Portugal, and many others. During the International Week, guest lecturers will give around 40 lectures, seminars, and practical sessions.

The first International Week was organised by the University 10 years ago. By this traditional initiative, the LSU aims to further expand and strengthen the University’s internationalisation by inviting teachers, researchers and practitioners from the LSU partner institutions to share their scientific knowledge, innovations and experience with the LSU students.
