SPORT FORUM is an annual event held since 2019 and organised by the Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) together with the National Sports Agency, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee. The event’s media partner is Lithuania’s national broadcaster TV3.
The 8th SPORT FORUM, taking place in 2026, will bring together sports leaders, experts, researchers, representatives of sports organisations, businesses and the technology sector from Lithuania and abroad to discuss some of the most important challenges and opportunities shaping the future of sport.
The Forum aims to present the latest international trends in sport, share insights from research and practice, foster collaboration among different stakeholders within the sports ecosystem, and explore solutions for building a more innovative, sustainable and competitive sports system.
This year’s programme will focus on three key themes shaping the future of sport. The Forum will explore how to identify, develop and retain sporting talent, and examine the role of science, coaches, the environment and modern technologies in this process. It will also address how artificial intelligence, data, innovation and new business models are transforming the global sports industry, athlete development, fan experience and the way sports organisations operate.
The third key theme will look at the future of the European sports ecosystem, exploring how stronger collaboration between clubs, leagues, federations, international organisations, commercial partners and fans can contribute to sustainable growth while preserving competitiveness, social value and the unique identity of European sport.
The 8th SPORT FORUM will not only showcase global trends in sport but also encourage an open dialogue on how the decisions we make today will shape the sport of tomorrow – from the journey of young talent to the future of professional sports organisations, technology, business and the wider European sports ecosystem.
