On April 7–11, 2025 the Lithuanian Sports University will hold the 8th edition of International Week which has become a traditional annual event.
This year, the International Week brings together 20 international teachers from the LSU partner institutions, representing countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, the United States and Uzbekistan.
The LSU students will benefit from lectures, seminars and practical sessions led by knowledgeable experts in their fields. Associate Professor Dr. Eric Martin form Boise State University (USA) will provide teaching on the topics in sport psychology while his colleague from the same University, Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Human Performance Lab, Dr. Blake Densley will give lectures in sport performance. The gymnastics teacher from Nippon University of Sports Science (Japan), Dr. Ryosuke Miyake will share his experience on a way how to get people interested in exercise by using everyday items to make it fun and will also lead practical sessions in gymnastics. This year, many foreign teachers will give lectures on different aspects of sports management and cover topics such as personal branding, e-sports business or the role of leadership in sport. Katrin Hemschemeier from Paderborn University (Germany) will teach on the relevance and implementation of evidence-based practice in sport and on the methodological application of problem-based learning in sport and exercise science. All the teachers taking part in the International Week will have their teaching sessions integrated into the LSU timetable.
On Tursday, April 10 from 16:00, all the LSU community is invited together with foreign guests to take part in the 3×3 Volleyball Tournament which will take place in the Main sports hall, LSU Central building. To register, please contact Dr. Aurelius Zuoza: aurelijus.zuoza@lsu.lt
The first International Week was organised by the University 10 years ago. By this traditional initiative, the LSU aims to further expand and strengthen the University’s internationalisation by inviting teachers, researchers and practitioners from the LSU partner institutions to share their scientific knowledge, innovations and experience with the LSU students.
During the International Week, international guest teachers will give over 50 lectures, workshops and practical sessions to the LSU students.
