University teachers participated in an international training of tourism professionals

The teachers of the Department of Sport Management, Economics and Sociology, the Faculty of Sport Education Prof. Dr. Edmundas Jasinskas, Dr. Regina Navickienė, Diana Komskienė, Dana Rimkevičienė and the head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Biruta Švagždienė participated in an international training of tourism professionals in Druskininkai “The Future of Tourism in the Baltic Sea Region in a Dynamic Digital Environment”. The first training for the Baltic Sea region of such level was organized by The Ministry of Economy together with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The event was attended by about one hundred and fifty representatives of the tourism sector from Lithuania, Germany, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Russia and other countries.

 Taking into account the insights on current tourism markets and the specific tourism needs and challenges in Lithuania as well as the Baltic region, the training focused on the strategic marketing planning methods, alternative methods of marketing, e-marketing criteria, success factors and best practices.
