Students of Lithuanian Sports University show interest in research

The Research Council of Lithuania, implementing the project of the EU Structural Funds “Support for Students’ Scientific Research” allocated funding for Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) and set up scolarships for three students of LSU. The students will carry out research in their free time after studies during the spring semester of 2015. Justinas Platkevičius (scientific supervisor Dr. M. Brazaitis), a first-year student of Sports Coaching undergraduate study programme will carry out a research “The Effect of Moderate Hypothermia on Thermoregulation and the Kinetics of Cytokines IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α” at the Institute of Sport Science and Innovations, LSU. Indrė Labanauskaitė (scientific supervisor Dr. V. B. Fominienė), a first-year student of Tourism and Sports Management graduate study programme will carry out a research “Links between Work Motivation and Job Satisfaction in Healthcare Industry Organizations” at LSU Innovation Laboratory (Inolab). Giedrė Gudaitytė (scientific supervisor Dr. E. Jasinskas), a first-year student of Tourism and Sports Management graduate study programme will carry out a research “Evaluation of Economic Inheritance: the Case of Eurobasket 2011” at the Department of Business Economics and Management, Vilnius University, Kaunas Faculty of Humanities.

The aim of the project is to provide students with routine skils in research work through scientific research, involve students in the activities of the research carried out by the institution according to state and international research programmes, deepen subject knowledge and practical (laboratory) skills.

LSU Doctoral degree students were also appreciated as the Research Council of Lithuania set up a scholarship for the year of 2015 for academic achievement. Five students of Education doctoral study programme got scholarships for their research results.
