Trends in Active Leisure sector development discussed in London

The closing meeting of the project “Social D.I.A.L.” took place in the Congress Palace, London (Great Britain) where the trends in Active Leisure sector development in Europe were discussed. Lithuania was represented by LSU teacher Dr. Simona Pajaujienė and LSU social partner Aurimas Mačiukas, the head of the wellness centre “Linija”.

The participants decided to incorporate Fitness and Outdoor sectors in pursuance of increased recognition in the EU Commissions and participation in the European projects.

Active Leisure sector employee qualification development and recognition of the sector were the main challenges named by the representatives of the Wellness sector. Lithuanian delegates also had an opportunity to take counsel with Cliff Collinz, the Head of the European Register of Exercise Professionals (EREPS) on further steps in developing the Lithuanian Register of Wellness Professionals. The register will have a direct connection with the EREPS.
