During the celebration of the 85th anniversary, the community of Lithuanian Sports University honoured the people who had greatly promoted the University. LSU teachers, scientists, administrative staff and students elected the most prominent scientists, alumni, teachers, coaches, athletes and the most prominent personality of Lithuanian Sports University of period 2012-2019.
The results revealed that Prof. Habil. Dr. Albertas Skurvydas and Prof. Dr. Sigitas Kamandulis were the most prominent scientists. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Brigita Miežienė and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Simona Pajaujienė were named the best teachers, Olympic Vice-Champion Austra Skujytė and World Champion Andrius Gudžius were recognised as the best athletes, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rasa Kreivytė and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vidas Bružas won in the category of the best coaches.
Olympic Champion Virgilijus Alekna was named the most prominent alumnus of the University, and Prof. Dr. Diana Rėklaitienė was recognised as the most prominent personality of Lithuanian Sports University. LSU community commemorated Prof. Aleksas Stanislovaitis and the badge of honour “LSU atmintis” was handed over to Professor’s wife Jūratė Kudirkaitė-Stanislovaitienė.
