LSU started the activities of I COACH GIRLS project

Lithuanian Sports University started the activities of I COACH GIRLS (ICG) project. The women coaches have been invited from all over Lithuania to have training courses in coaching girls.

The aim of the ICG project is to train girls from 5–12 years, who has never been involved in sports or has dropped out. Also, it aims to enhance girls’ physical activity, support them with healthy habits and promote to be involved not only in physical activity, but in sports as well. It is very important to enlarge the prestige of women coaches, to support them with professional knowledge, and be a part of 5 Play centres that are already established all over Lithuania. Each Play centre contains 30 girls and from 8 to 10-women coaches. The Play centres have been located in: South-Eastern and Eastern Lithuania, Mid, Western and Southern Lithuania and include women coaches from different regional towns and cities. After a week of women coaches training session, they have started 10 weeks coaching period of 5-12 years old girls. During all this period coaches will be supported by two Head woman coaches from Lithuanian Sports University: Assoc. prof. Inga Lukonaitiene and lecturer Aida Vengale.

ICG training sessions will end by the middle of October and women coaches from different areas representing 5 Play centers will be invited to I Coach Kids conference held on 25th October, 2024.
