LSU researchers involved in an international project on inclusion of youth through sport

The representatives of Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) organized an introductory meeting for Erasmus + project “PlayIn” partners in Kaunas.

“PlayIn” is a 2-year project funded by the European Union for social and professional inclusion of young people through sporting activities. The aim of the project is to strengthen the capacities of sports organizations, especially those directly involving vulnerable young people, in order to better support their professional and social integration.

Three main tools will be created in the project process: training guidelines for volunteers, a set of tools for sports organizations and an online labelling platform. Training guidelines for volunteers in sports organizations will provide young people with information about self-assessment and recognition of skills and knowledge gained through their experience. A set of tools for sports organizations will help them adopt and properly target young beneficiaries and thus support their social and professional inclusion. The online labelling platform will identify and promote projects to support social and professional inclusion through sport worldwide.

The project is organized by FACE (Les entreprises contre l’exclusion, France).

Project participants: LSU, GrowthCoop (Spain), CESIE (Centro studi e iniziative europeo, Italy), BrainLog (Denmark).

LSU project team: project coordinator – researcher Dr. Artūras Simanavičius, researchers Prof. Dr. Edmundas Jasinskas, Prof. Dr. Biruta Švagždienė and Antanas Ūsas.
