LSU and the University of Essex are developing joint plans

The Chancellor of Lithuanian Sports University Dr. Mindaugas Balčiūnas paid a visit to the University of Essex (Great Britain) with the aim to discuss cooperation possibilities between LSU and the University of Essex. Representatives of both universities discussed the planned joint research, projects and their topics. A lot of attention was paid to possibilities for LSU students to go on internships to one of the best English universities.

According to LSU Chancellor Dr. Mindaugas Balčiūnas, plans and investments of the University of Essex both in sports studies, and in sports infrastructure and activity development open up great prospects for the intensification of LSU international cooperation. The University of Essex, which has recently celebrated the 50th anniversary, was announced as the one of the best universities in Britain in 2014 after university culture and student satisfaction with studies had been assessed. “This recognition is a valuable experience striving for university activities, based on the highest international standards. LSU competence in the improvement of university sports programmes, implementation of joint research in sports science and student and teacher exchange are seen as the main directions in the development of joint projects with the University of Essex. We hope that both universities will benefit from this cooperation“, said M. Balčiūnas.

Mike Callan, a teacher at the University of Essex and a judo coach of the highest category, who has also written 20 scientific articles and 4 books, has recently shared his experience with the students and teachers of LSU.
