On September 24-27, the 31st Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) took place in Helsinki, Finland, hosting more than 7,000 participants from 95 countries around the world. The representatives of Lithuanian Sports University the Head of the International Relations Office Irena Čikotienė, Chief Specialist Tomas Kukenys and the Head of the Office of Communication and Marketing Žilvinas Slauskis also participated in the event.
The theme of this year’s exhibition was “Encompassing All Voices”. There was a great deal of discussion on the European Union-funded academic exchange programme Erasmus + and its activities, internationalization strategies of universities, partnerships, trends and challenges in attracting students, the impact of Brexit on European higher education, and innovations in communication and marketing in higher education.
In addition to the plenary sessions and various presentations, the exhibition also featured meetings at the exhibition stands, which presented higher education institutions. The joint stand of Lithuanian higher education institutions “Study in Lithuania” attracted great interest. Meetings with education consultants, representatives of other universities, as well as current and future partners were organized there. Lithuanian Sports University was also introduced to the exhibition visitors. During the exhibition, LSU representatives discussed collaboration with Boise State University and Metropolitan State University of Denver (USA), Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (India), University of Southern Denmark, University of South-Eastern Norway, Coventry University (United Kingdom) and other universities. Improvement of student and teacher exchange opportunities, conditions for students and study programmes, strengthening of inter-university cooperation and signing of new agreements were discussed and meetings with the world’s largest student recruitment portals from Study Portals, Keystone Academic Solutions and Educations. com. organized.
The 32nd Annual Conference and Exhibition, organized by the European Association for International Education, will take place in Barcelona, Spain, in 2020.
