ERASMUS students back at the LSU after 10 years

Ten years… So many years have passed since the Turkish student Ismail Cagri Akdogan from Ege University and the Italian student Francesco Coletta from the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio came for the Erasmus studies to the LSU. This year they came again to the LSU for a short visit and shared their memories.

“Back then at the Lithuanian Sports University I studied in the Sports Coaching programme and my specialization was volleyball. Not only did I enjoy studying, but I also made a lot of friends, and I still keep in touch with most of my former classmates. I lived in the LSU dormitory and I remember that great student environment. I would also single out the quality of my studies and the LSU teachers who motivated me not to stop and to strive for more. Currently I live in Germany and work as a sports developer for Sony Electronics. Besides, I’m a volleyball coach and help to organize various volleyball tournaments,” says the former LSU Erasmus student Ismail Cagri Akdogan.

Francesco Coletta was another Erasmus student who studied at the LSU ten years ago. After Francesco completed his studies back in Italy, he came to Lithuania and now he lives in Kaunas.

“It’s good to come back to the LSU again, to meet with the teachers and the staff from the International Relations Office who helped me a lot when I was a student. This University has given a wealth of knowledge, particularly during my studies in the LSU International Master in Performance Analysis of Sport programme. There teachers from different countries shared their knowledge, I got to know the sports world much better and I had a chance to travel a lot,” says Francesco.
