The visiting lecturer N. Walter had shared her expertise in scientific and clinical domains with students and teaching staff

Last week, on 25–29th of April there were an intensive study course “Sport Psychology – Research and Applied Aspects to Promote Health and Enhance Well-being” (10 hrs.) led by the invited guest lecturer habil. dr. Nadja Walter from Leipzig university (Germany). The lecturer had prepared teaching material for students of the study programs Exercise, Nutrition and Stress Management as well as Physical Activity and Lifestyle.

“The visiting lecturer Nadja Walter came to have lectures and seminars for our students after a few years break. Together with a coleague dr. Brigita Miežienė we purposefully organize her exchange visit to LSU for the second time. This time to reveal the specific related topics not only of “Individual Consultation”, but “Behaviour Change, Motivation and Consultation” study module as well. It was great to notice that the thematic relevance of the course had attracted a variety of members of university’s academic community: the open call to attend the workshops of the international study visit program found wide interest among young scientists – the PhD candidates in Biology, the full-time foreign student of Master Study programme Adapted Physical Activity, as well as freshmen in Sport and Tourism Management”, says dr. Rita Gruodytė-Račienė, the associate professor of the Department of Physical and Social Education, responsible for the guest lecturer’s visit and project application.

During the visit, N. Walter had shared her expertise in scientific and clinical domains with universitety’s teaching staff, researchers, students. Her lecture-discussion „The dark side of physical activity: exercise addiction, eating disorder, injuries (The psychosocial risk and protective factors in competitive sport)”, performed in a hybrid way, has attracted about eight tens of coleagues in interest.
