The State Studies Foundation administers two types of financial support for Ukrainian students:
- Scholarship of EUR 300 per month from 1 January 2023 to 31 August 2024 (inclusive), including the period of sessions and holidays.
- Payment of part of the tuition fee.
The scholarship is open only to students who meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Citizens of Ukraine, their family members who do not have the citizenship of Ukraine, and stateless persons residing in Ukraine, who have left Ukraine for the Republic of Lithuania due to the military actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and have been admitted to study in undergraduate (first cycle), graduate (second cycle), or integrated study programmes of Lithuanian public higher education institutions;
- Admitted to study from 24 February 2022 to 31 December 2022 (inclusive);
- Holders of a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania or who have been granted temporary protection in accordance with the procedure set in the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on the Legal Status of Aliens, or if the person has applied for a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania to the Migration Department under the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania in accordance with the procedure set in the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on the Legal Status of Aliens;
- Who do not receive a scholarship in accordance with sub-paragraph 9.2 of the Description of the Procedure for Provision of State Support for the Studies and Lithuanian Studies of Foreigners and Foreign Lithuanians in Lithuania, approved by the Order of the Minister of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania No V-771 of 22 May 2020 “On the Provision of State Support for the Studies, Academic Mobility, and Lithuanian Studies in Lithuania and Abroad”.
The amount of the scholarship is EUR 300 per month.
The scholarship shall not be awarded after the student has taken an academic leave, completed his/her studies, discontinued his/her studies, or has been expelled from the higher education institution before the date of the decision of the Director of the Foundation referred to in Paragraph 14 of the Description.
When is the scholarship terminated?
- If the student graduates earlier than the scheduled graduation date, if the student discontinues his/her studies or if the student has been expelled from the higher education institution;
- In case of the student taking an academic leave;
- If the student does not consent to the processing of his/her personal data by the Foundation;
- In the event of the death of the student.
When is the scholarship paid?
The Foundation will transfer the scholarship awarded for the current month to the student’s personal bank account no later than the 12th of the following month.
